Sierra Kuzak

Sierra Kuzak is a dedicated student at Washington & Jefferson College who is pursuing a diverse academic path which includes majors in biochemistry, psychology, and Spanish while being on the pre-health track. Throughout her academic career, she has consistently earned a spot on the Dean’s list for all five of the semesters she has spent in college. As member of the prestigious Matthew Brown Fellowship, Sierra actively engages in community service at Presbyterian Senior Care in the Washington area, demonstrating her commitment to serving others. In addition to academics, Sierra has obtained valuable experiences in the field of research through her many internships contributing to a laboratory focusing on studying eye disorders in a mouse model at West Virginia University. As an author on two papers at various places in the process of being published, Sierra continues to demonstrate dedication to advancing scientific knowledge in the field of biochemistry. A diverse set of skills in the laboratory has led Sierra to serve as a laboratory assistant to a wide variety of courses over the last four semesters of her academic career. Looking into the future, Sierra aspires to enter an MD-PhD program upon graduating from college. Thanks to a passion for both clinical practice and research, she aims to become an eye surgeon while maintaining an active research laboratory.
